Sneak peak...

Over the last few months, I've been working on a few young readers' books for Stone Arch Publishing starring Batman and Superman. The stories are fun little self-contained jaunts set firmly in the Bruce Timm created universe of Batman: The Animated Series and his other subsequent shows.

First up will be a Two-Face tale full of great illustrations by my former Arm-Fall-Off-Boy collaborator, Shawn McManus. The book is called Two-Face's Double Take. Here's a look at Shawn's pencil sketch for cover.

Keep checking back here for release dates and more info on my other books in this series.

Taking a bite...

If you're around the New York area this weekend, I'll be appearing at the Big Apple Comic Convention's Summer Sizzler this Saturday from 10:30 am to 7 pm. It's a free show if you head over to their website and register. So stop by my table to get some signed books, chat comics, or to just bug me about not having anything witty to say in this post.

MoCCA 2009...

This weekend, I'll be stopping by the MoCCA festival in Manhattan for their annual comic convention. I don't have a table this year, but I'll be wandering around the show, as well as the David Mazzucchelli gallery opening on Saturday night. It's a great event, so be sure to check it out if you're in the New York City area. Here's the info: http://moccany.org/

And if you're coming into town for the show, you might as well stop by Rocketship Comics in Brookyln on Friday night to check out the Syncopated release party that my old college buddy Brendan Burford put together. Rumor has it, they'll have some sort of fancy beer there, so even if you don't like good comics, there'll be something for you to do.
